IT Application Team Lead (Core Banking System - CBS)

Job Summary:

This leadership role is responsible for owning and managing the Core Banking System (CBS) platform of the bank. The IT Application Team Lead will ensure the optimal functioning, maintenance, and enhancement of the CBS, driving the alignment of technology with business needs.

Function: Technical Analyst, Service Deliver

Key Responsibilities:

Techno-Functional Expertise: Serve as a Techno-functional resource with a balanced focus on banking processes and core banking technologies.

Implementation & Maintenance: Oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the CBS application, ensuring its alignment with the bank’s operational needs.

Business Requirement Analysis: Understand business requirements thoroughly and provide optimal solution approaches to address these needs.

Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors, maintaining effective communication to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.

Negotiation Skills: Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure the best possible terms and outcomes from vendor engagements.

Project Management: Manage the delivery lifecycle from the requirement gathering stage through to production deployment, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs.

Team Leadership: Guide and support L1 and L2 teams to ensure rapid issue resolution and efficient operational support.

Integration Knowledge: Possess knowledge of other applications integrated with CBS, such as Aadhaar vault, KYC automation, DMS, Cards, and Payment channels.

Continuous Improvement: Constantly seek opportunities to improve the performance and service delivery of the Core Banking System, implementing changes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Software Development Lifecycle: Have a deep understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and API-led integration practices.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Technical writing skills are required.

Relevant Job Experience:

A minimum of 15 years of experience in IT, with a significant portion in managing banking production systems.

Proven experience with CBS platforms, demonstrating a strong track record in implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Solid experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
